Bharati Vidyapeeth, a parent body of Bharati Vidyapeeth University is one of the largest educational organizations
in India having under its umbrella more than 130 educational
units of various kinds.
Bharati Vidyapeeth was established in 1964 by Dr. Patangrao
Kadam, the Chancellor of the University, with an objective
to providing all that education can offer to bring about the
social transformation. This Vidyapeeth is one of the leading
national level educational organisations. It is multidisciplinary
in character and has an intellectual rigor and a practical
outlook.
Among the educational institutions which Bharati Vidyapeeth
runs, 55 institutions are of higher education including professional
education. Bharati Vidyapeeth conducts courses almost in all
disciplines of knowledge including Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurved,
Homoeopathy, Nursing, Engineering, Pharmacy, Management, Law,
Arts, Social Sciences, Science, Computer Sciences, Bio-Technology,
Commerce, Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Architecture,
Fine Arts and the like.
Since Bharati Vidyapeeth is committed not only to the dissemination
of knowledge but also to generate new knowledge, it has established
quite a few Research Institutes in the areas of medicine and
related sciences, Information Technology and Biotechnology,
Pharmaceutical Sciences and Applied Chemistry, Environment
Science and Social Sciences.
Bharati Vidyapeeth has its campuses in New Delhi capital
of India and at Pune, Navi Mumbai, Karad, Sangli, Kolhapur,
Solapur, Jawhar and at a few other places in Maharashtra.
Besides these colleges and institutions of higher education,
Bharati Vidyapeeth has also established more than 70 pre-primary,
primary, secondary and higher secondary schools in different
cities, towns and villages in the State of Maharashtra.
To cater for the educational and economics needs of women
in rural and tribal areas, the Vidyapeeth has established
an educational center at Jawhar, District Nasik and Industrial
Training center at Kadegaon, District Sangli.
In addition to this conglomeration of educational institutions,
Bharati Vidyapeeth has been successfully running several co-operative
units, such as banks, consumer stores, sugar factory, spinning
mill and poultry.
