- How can I obtain an Eligibility Letter?
An International student should fill up an application form,
submit an attested copy of their academic documents (attested
as a true copy by the Indian Mission in student's home country
or the Ministry of education in student's home country or
the student's Mission in India) and correct amount of money
towards Processing Fee by cash or by a demand draft. The
demand draft should be made in favour of the Registrar,
Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune, and sent to
the International Students' Office.
International Students' Office of Bharati Vidyapeeth University will assess his/her documents and when his/her
application is approved, it will then issue a provisional
eligibility letter which can be collected in person or sent
to his/her postal address in his/her home country. It could
also be sent to him/her by fax or online.
- How can I obtain a Student Visa?
An International student is required to obtain an appropriate
Student Visa in order to stay and study in India. To apply
and to be eligible for a Student Visa he/she needs to satisfy
the visa authorities that he/she is a genuine student intending
to undertake studies and obey visa conditions. An International
student must obtain a provisional eligibility letter from
International Students' Office of Bharati Vidyapeeth University with which he/she would be able to obtain a Student
Visa from the Indian Mission in his/her home country. Further
information may be obtained by contacting the nearest Indian
Mission in your country.
- Who should I contact for information about my
Ph.D. Formalities?
If you intend applying for a Ph.D. research programme, you
should first contact the International Students' Office
of the University and fill up the relevant form, and enclose
an attested copy of your academic records, a detailed outline
of your background in your chosen field, a description of
the content of your final year's programme at your previous
university and a description of your proposed research field
and topic in five copies.
You would need to write your proposal in about 10-20 pages
which would entail a brief on the topic of your choice.
This proposal would be sent to a supervisor/guide related
to your area/subject of research.
- How can I apply for professional courses like
M.B.B.S., Dentistry, Pharmacy, Engineering, M.B.A. etc.?
International students wishing to opt for professional courses
would have to apply in the same manner like any other International
students but would also need to obtain a "No Objection
Certificate" from the Government of India.
- How much do I need to budget for my studying,
cost of living and accommodation?
The cost of studying at Bharati Vidyapeeth University
compares favourably with universities of similar standing
in other countries where English is the medium of instruction.
However the monthly living expenses including accommodation,
food, transport etc. all vary from individual to individual
and it depends on the life style that the student adopts.
- Can I post or fax my application to International
Students' Office of the Bharati Vidyapeeth University?
Yes, you can, but please see that you send a compete application
form available in International Student Prospectus or our
web site, and make sure that you include attested copies
of your academic documents.
- Does Bharati Vidyapeeth University accept
late applications?
As far as possible we try to make the student apply in time
as this will save a lot of disappointment on the side of
the student. But if you can not for some reason apply in
time we would try our best to accommodate your application.
Late applications will be accepted and considered but there
is no guarantee that they can be processed in time for the
proposed intake or that there will be a seat available in
your selected course. All on time applications will be processed
before late applications are assessed.
- I haven't received my academic results yet can
I still enroll at Bharati Vidyapeeth University?
It would be difficult to process your application form.
But at the same time you could write to us or fax us your
letter-we would put it aside and try our best to process
it on receiving your final results. In the mean time you
could enroll for our English Language Certificate Course
(ELCC).
- Should I send the original copies of my academic
transcripts/qualifications? Who can certify my documents?
No, as documents that are submitted to International Students'
Office will not be returned, we advise students not to send
originals. You may therefore send an attested copy of the
original, which is a true copy of the original that has
been stamped and signed as a true copy by either the Indian
Mission in your home country or the Ministry of Education
in your home country or the Student Mission in India. Documents
which are not in English must be accompanied by a certified
English language translation. But when you come in person,
you must bring along with you all your original documents
which would include transcripts, certificates, passport
etc.
- What happens after I have applied for admission
at Bharati Vidyapeeth University?
Once International Students' Office of Bharati Vidyapeeth University receives your application, your application
will be assessed carefully to ascertain your eligibility
and then the result would be communicated to you. Please
note that postal services to and from certain countries
take a while, so please take this into consideration and
allow some time for the same. We could also fax or e-mail
the result to you, if the candidate provides his/her fax
number or e-mail address.
- I haven't heard anything about my application
for some time, what should I do?

- Do I need to take the TOEFL or IELTS test for
English Language Proficiency?
Bharati Vidyapeeth University expects all students
to be proficient in English. However it is not a pre-requisite
condition to have done the TOEFL or IELTS, but it would
be good from your own point of view to have a good knowledge
of English. It is important for us to assess a student's
level of English to see whether you will cope with your
chosen programme. We also have an English Course that we
coordinate-and it would be worthwhile to upgrade your English
language skills.
- Is there any English Language Course in Bharati Vidyapeeth University?
Yes, there is, International Students' Office conducts an
English Language Certificate Course (ELCC) for International
students of different durations.
- Where can I stay if I decide to take admission
at Bharati Vidyapeeth University? Can I stay in the
university hostel?
